I am reading a book called Loves Executioner, There is a chapter about a 70 year old female who had a 27 day, what she called an affair with her 20 something year old psychiatrist. She is married, and when the psychiatrist decides to not see her anymore she goes into deep depression and over a period of six or seven years she tries to commit suicide because she cannot bear to not talk to or see this man. She finally goes to another psychiatrist and during the period he is treating her he arranges a meeting with the young man she is obsessing over. After she meets with the young man she first becomes depressed and feels used, then she overcomes those feelings and gains a sense of empowerment over the young man and somehow the young man who has not seen or talked to her in over six years is currently calling her at least once a month. She is no longer depressed and she cancels her sessions with her current psychiatrist.
I am pondering was she depressed because he made her feel young? He had sex with her once and he admitted he enjoyed having sex with her and being with her walking, and dining. The author makes a statement like love is not permanent, but I think he meant sex is not permanent.

I didn't know there were 20-something year old psychiatrists. Doesn't it take forever to get through all that schooling?

Besides which, I think a 70 year old woman who takes up with a 20-something psychiatrist probably has a screw slightly loose in the first place.
