Books! How do you read and what do you read?

At the moment, I'm on my 3rd book by author Harlan Coben. I hope to read more by this author. These books, I chose from the library shelves.
He's from my home town. Oddly enough I've never read any of his books! Is he good?

Just finished.....BEING HENRY The Fonz ....And Beyond by Henry Winkler

This book is about a man whose parents considered him dumb.
Treated him badly .

Henry was severely dyslexic,, could not read, couldn't spell, or even do basic arithmetic.
How he goes on about his life to become the Fonz and much later as a successful actor, director.

He also wrote children's books that included a dyslexic character. "The Hank Zipzer" series.

I'm going to suggest to my niece that she find some of that series for her Special needs daughter.

I recommend this book,,its a small book with a message to all who read & relate to his life.

I thought he went to Harvard.

I'm on the waiting list for it at the library; can't wait to read it, I'm first in line!

I love his books! Have you read any of the Myron Bolitar series? I suggest you read them in order.
which book of his would be a good starting point?
I’ll stick my nose in here. I started with the first book of his Myron Bolitar series, read those through, and then his stand alone novels.

I could not live without my Kindle. I got a used one years ago because I wasn’t sure I would like it, but was hooked from the word “GO”! I think my favorite part is having the Kindle app on my phone so I can continue reading whatever book I’m on wherever I go.

My favorite genre is thriller. Not ones that are gory, though.

I am currently reading The Bee Sting by Paul Murray- it's on many "best books of 2023" lists and I am loving it.
Edited to add the title which I stupidly left out because my brain no longer functions.

SINS OF THE FATHERS. by J.A.Jance

This may be the first J.P Beaumont series I've read.

J.P. Beaumont is asked to help an old friend find his daughter.

As the story progresses the missing girl happens to be the daughter of Beaumont,, from a 'one night stand'.
This is one tangled web that this book leads you on.

In the last pages of it Beaumont goes to visit one of his partner from the police dept. who has Alzheimer.
He asks the man's wife how can you come here everyday & handle this?

Patience and Acceptance was her answer.

For those of us who may dealing with the onset of Alzheimer,,no truer word can be written.

I'm reading 'one dog at a time' by Pen Farthing. What a wonderful thing he did to rescue dogs.

In it he tells of the plight of dogs, so sad. One thing he says is how there is not usually even a dawn chorus as all wildlife hides. It makes me reflect as to what on Earth animals go through as they watch what humans do to each other, dreadful destruction. So much suffering must be done by the helpless birds, all animals wherever there is war.

This earth was given to Man to look after. Look what we do.
