Warrigal, Does your country have the problem of people deserting dogs and cat like we do? There aren't enough people that will take the rescued animals that are over 3 or 4 years?
It is a problem we don't seem to be able to surmount. A lot of animals are put down here.

Come on Warri...you're not too old, how about having these two at home?
I couldn't keep up with either of them, let alone both.
Young animals require energy, which I have in insufficient supply these days.
I like being around them though.
Every Wednesday sees me volunteering at the playgroup and, as I have done ever since I was a kid, I make friends with any dog I encounter but only if the owner doesn't object. I'm happy to care for people's dogs when they go on holidays too but a puppy is a real commitment that I'm not sure I can make.
