Botox: Cosmetic and medical uses, procedures, and side effects
Botox discussions can include its medical uses (migraines, excessive sweating, muscle spasms), cosmetic applications (wrinkles, gummy smiles), potential side effects (bruising, headache, drooping eyelids), how it works by blocking nerve signals to muscles, and the importance of consulting a qualified provider. It is also used off-label for various other conditions and can lead to muscle atrophy if used long-term.

Once I had Botox for excessive underarm perspiration and it was helpful. This was many years ago.

My husband has it in his neck. You’ll have seen people with Parkinson’s jerk their head to one side. The Botox helps with the pain for a while. This has to be done by a neurologist.

Hi Jules..

It was helpful for you then, and your husband gets some relief of pain for a while. Positive outcomes ..

* gonna share that with my coffee group, when we’re chatting about Botox.

I read that Botox is approved for headache treatment for chronic migraines but not all primary care doctors do those and may refer you to a neurologist or pain management doctor. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, Botox injections for migraines may require prior authorization.

An aesthetician was hinting to me that she knew someone who had a good source of Botox and did it for a good price. Fat chance I would use someone like that. Not long after that I read of some folks that were closed down for doing this. Darned dangerous.
