Brazil's Turmoil Part Of US Coup? Temporary President Ex Informant For The US

With only about 3 months to go before the Olympics, I wonder how this political mess is going to impact that venue. Between the Zika Virus and the heavily polluted waterways that some of the Olympic sports will be exposed to, Brazil can ill afford to have any more problems.

Pollution and Zika are only a portion of Brazil's problems along with the politics, crime, poverty and poor economy. I just hope in order to put on a show they don't suppress protests & riots with extreme measures. Will the world see propaganda or Brazil in it's true and present state with all it's problems There is really no way at this point to pretend everything is fine & dandy in Rio land.
 

Everything wasn't fine and dandy in Russia during the last Olympics but they managed to carry it off.

I think we should give Brazil a chance. As I've said before, they pulled off the World Cup. What's the difference between that and the Olympics? Athletes and spectators coming from all over the world, different venues, lots of travel and hotel rooms and many people to feed ... they managed that, they'll manage this.

Biggest oil reserves in the world and bankrupt because Saudi Arabia is returning some favours and overproducing to keep the price low!

Big difference between World Cup and Olympics just by the greater number of events, venues and athletes at the Olympics. As shaky things got in Russia they didn't have the multitude of problems Brazil has had. Say what you will at least Russia had a strong leader, Brazil has a temporary president. There are facilities not even complete 3 months prior. They've already cancelled some test events and health experts say the Zika threat alone is enough reason to cancel or move the games.

A Brazilian Cabinet member was caught on tape talking about getting rid of the suspended/ousted president. Not for corruption but apparently many thought she was incompetent for allowing things to get out of hand. Little or no evidence has been found to prove her corrupt although the corruption that occurred on her watch was massive if not catastrophic.

Did you know that while Dilma Rouseff was acting President, her government was investigating some kind of fraud at the country's largest energy company (Petrobras) and that seven of the new government were actually being investigated in connection with the energy company illegalities? Interesting how a bunch of 'crooks' orchestrated the ouster of the one who was investigating them, by causing impeachment proceedings against her. She also had negotiated with Iran that Brazil and Iran would do business using Euro's and the Brazilian real instead of the American dollar and was gradually going to unload a lot of the American debt that Brazil or the oil company had on its books because of the effect it was having on their economy. So with an American ex-informant now in place as the acting president and he was being investigated for fraud....is it any surprise that she feels that a coup has taken place?

From Vox. A lot of the Petrobras scandal says it was the private sector basically over charging the government sector( Petrobras ) with outrageous contracts. Also included kickbacks and bribes to get the contracts. The suspended president was in power when it was investigated.

Gosh, just read your link WhatInThe and it's just appalling what has gone on in Brazil. I don't know about you folks but it sounds to me like a vindication that President Rouseff has been vindicated. I wonder if she will be able to turn this around or has it tainted her so badly that she's done?

Ruthanne, is there a reason why you don't believe this story? If you are referring to the reference to the acting President being an American informant, I'm simply going by what Wikileaks has exposed.
