Bread crumbs

Do you buy bread crumbs.

The reason I ask is because I used to watch my mother in law take stale bread and bake it and then grate it into crumbs.

I have started doing that and I feel better about not throwing left over bread away.

i don't flavor them.

NO I never buy breadcrumbs... I rarely use them anyway, but if I do I crumb my own bread...

It was nice when the old gas ovens had a pilot light so you could just put the slices on the oven rack overnight to dry.

You can also make fresh breadcrumbs from day-old bread in the blender/food processor, just tear up a couple of slices and pulse them until you have the size crumbs that you need.

I also make my own, but as Aunt Bea said, I use a food processor.
