British & Australian TV Shows on PBS in America.

The third season of Happy Valley isn’t available here yet. It was tough on the nerves to watch. Siobhan Finnerman who was also in it was a lead in the Stranger. I recognize lots of actors from one show to the next now.

I love most of the old Brit comedies, but got tired of the many, many murder mysteries.

I also liked Gavin and Stacy, The Royles, Black Books, as well as the aforementioned and more older ones like Fawlty Towers.

All time Fav: Absolutely Fabulous.

I have always prefered the British TV to the American. The American films have way too much swearing, too many boring car chases, too many boring sex scenes and perhaps too fast for me. The British have more interesting dialogue. This is generally speaking; there are exceptions to the rule; of course.

I’m a big fan of the older British television programs and most of the PBS Masterpiece programs.

Some of the newer programs have too many story lines interwoven for my poor old mind to handle.

DaVinci’s Inquest an old television program from our friends to the north is another late night favorite of mine.

I suppose if you;re getting these shows currently outside of the UK it won't seem old to you .. but of course to us they're very old shows..
Yes, I saw a photo many years ago of Wendy Richard who played on "Are You Being Served" and was amazed at how old she looked. I believe she died over a decade ago but I still see her as young Miss Brahms.
