British Highschoolers try American Snacks for the first time!

I hadn't heard of many of those snacks. I'm guessing the artificial flavors and other ingredients made them just ... ugh.
yes , but the kids seemed to like Twinkies ( the sponge with the fake cream in it ).. we have simialr here in the UK.. but most of ours has real cream..

Like @Devi, I've never seen nor heard of many of these snacks before. Cheez-its and Goldfish, yes (but plain cheddar, not those weird flavors), A & W root beer and Twinkies for sure. Warheads were very popular among the younger set back in the 90s and 00s. Most adults didn't like them.

I prefer Takis Blue Heat. Twinkie’s were great at one time, but no more. They taste like a cheap imitation.

All of our snacks taste horrible these days because the companies who started them were taken over by other companies not as good at their craft. Cakes are too sugary and bleh, crackers have no fat anymore because it's supposed to be bad for us so they taste like dust with a little cheddar sprinkled on them. :p Due to our laws controlling our diets, and they are doing that by banning this and that and leaving food utterly tasteless. I have to buy snacks at expensive stores or go hungry our snacks are so bad. Luckily I don't eat junk food, just the occasional cracker with Brie or something nice on top.

Those young men are adorable. We don't have most of those snacks here in Canada. I wouldn't try many of them. Of course, Twinkies have been around forever .. I tried them once, decades ago. They were o.k.
There's a shop here that sells British snacks. I like the potato rings a lot.

You have to try the Takis, even if you don’t get the hot ones. Kids over here eat bags and bags of them. The other big seller in my area was Lance Crackers.I like the ones with the cheese spread inside.
I used to like Tastykake. They came in several different varieties. They were really good. I think they were made in Philadelphia and family owned. Later they sold the company to some company off shore and they either changed the recipe or used cheaper ingredients. They are nowhere’s near as good as they once were.

My school snacks were a banana, a small orange, usually a tangerine, an apple, a pear and a peach like fruit known as a tangerine. It was cheap and nutritious. Sixty odd years later I still eat those same type of fruits every day. You might think that I am being a health freak, far from it. When I was a small boy I passed blood with my motions, well that had to be bowel cancer for sure, it couldn't be a fissure caused by too much protein in my diet, could it? Well, the bleed problem has never returned and I am as regular as clockwork.

My 22 yo grandson used to LIVE on Takis when he was a teen-so much so that the principal sent a note home that she didn`t feel a large bag of Takis was a sufficient or nutritious lunch lol. My daughter only put her foot down when reports started saying they were eating holes in children`s guts lol. He outgrew his obsession is is none the worse for wear because of it.

I think I would love the jaffa cakes, the 2 that are questionable would be the sorbet and the monster feet. We do have pickled flavored chips/crisps I have tried but they are not for me even though I love pickles. What are your favorites?
