British Media on Protests

They will never assimilate. They have told us their plan: we will be assimilated or die.

Well, that's quite a generalization. What constitutes the British Culture is ever changing, unless you want to live in the dim distant past. The American Culture is made up of influences from many different cultures too. If you come from, oh I don't know, India, I don't think it's reasonable to insist that if they live in the UK they have to like fish and chips over a curry. :D

I have more sense, and value my time much more than playing back and forth with cartoons. I feel no need to share cartoons like that, a lie is a lie, propaganda is propaganda.
Where is the lie, sir. Not trying to be smart, I really want to know.

Thank you for posting Winston Churchill's funeral. I was obviously very wrong and I owe everyone on this thread an apology. I apologize.

Nothing to do today so thought I'd look for the possible basis of the cartoons. I don't see a lie in the cartoonist interpretation.

Cartoon #1 seems accurate by stating MOSTLY Peaceful

Indeed according to Pew surveys the BLM protests became more peaceful over time. Between May 25 and June 4, 2020, 89% of protest demonstrations were non-violent while later between June and September 2020 more than 96% of BLM associated protests were non-violent [16].
Violence Against Black Lives Matter Protestors: a Review.

Cartoon #2 seems to reflect what is in this article.
The demonstrations are significant, however, in that they showcase the arrival in British public life of a new political force: namely, a mass, Islamist-led street presence that seeks to enforce its will on the public space and intimidate its opponents.
The U.K. Has an Islamist Problem

Cartoon #3 Info in this article seems to me it could be the basis.
UK PM To Meet Cops Over Stabbing Attack As Protesters Chant 'Save Our Kids'
More than 50 police officers were injured in violent clashes in the English town of Southport (AFP)

London: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will meet senior police leaders on Thursday, his office said, between after a second night of clashes between protesters and police prompted by the deaths of three young girls in a frenzied knife attack at a dance class.
There were angry scenes in London on Wednesday evening as thousands of anti-immigration protesters gathered near Starmer's Downing Street office and residence chanting "save our kids" and "we want our country back".

I am curious though as to why you had the opinion that the people of England turned their backs on Winston Churchill’s funeral procession. With a significant part of your statement capitalized. Where would such a thought have come from? What was the influencing factor that gave you that opinion?

I stand with the Brits because it's about time someone does. I'm proud they are standing up for themselves. Now let them be heard. Something good can come of this. I feel it. It's time.

:) I've been thinking about that memory. I believe it came from a documentary I watched many years ago. But I'm not positive where I got the idea which was firmly planted in my memory.

(It had nothing to do with the Japanese who turned their backs in mourning and respect to American troops and tanks moving through their streets.)

Anyway, WWII was a terrible thing --to be remembered in awe and never repeated.

Not sure who "they" are but in Australia we have been assimilating people from many and various parts of the world since the first European settlement. We give each new wave of immigrants help to settle in and time to adjust to our ways.

Never is the wrong word in this context. It tends to happen over the course of one to two generations and Australia is better for it.

Could it have been a mix of different memories? In part, one of a documentary where Winston Churchill was up for realection in 1945 after WW2. The weary British electorate kind of rejected him by voting in a different government. As they wanted a change to a Peacetime Leader as opposed to a Wartime Leader.

I never said, "... they have to like fish and chips... ".

Just a tiny error, but this is how lies and propaganda are introduced into the equation and are swept along with the truth and get everyone into a happy uproar.

I don't think so. This memory was too vivid and specific.

Well, that's it!

Looks like me and @chic are the only two on the same page here. We're both dumping this joint and heading for the cottage!

See ya! :)

^ I've stated this before. As a songwriter in my own right, I've always felt this song should have been titled "Something Silly".

The word 'stupid' is just too harsh for such a lovely melody and tune.

Just my 2 cents...

You assimilated, I assimilated. They, the Muslims, will never. Never is their word not mine.

Some cultures just go with the flow, while others feel they have to rock the boat.

It's timeless.

It's my whole theory on life...that 10% of the population screws it up for the well-meaning 90% of the population.

How has the British media covered the current deadly protests in Bangladesh or the recently foiled terror attack reportedly by ISIS in Austria on a Taylor Swift concert. Have they gotten more than a mention on a website? Were they broadcast on tv?
