Broccoli I started from a stem

If anybody was wondering about the broccoli - it's still with us, but looking poorly. It was out on the front porch all summer and I brought it in when it got cold, but it was never meant to be a houseplant. When I trimmed off some of the dead stems, I saw it's all hollow inside the main stem. Like I said, it was just an experiment.
