Broccoli with cheese sauce and noodles

It was on sale today for $2.00 for two stalks which is plenty.

I only used one.

I steamed the broccoli until it was tender.

Then I boiled some chinese noodles from one of the soup packages.

I found an old recipe book to make the cheese sauce.

Saucepan
2 tablespoons of butter or margarine
Blend in two tablespoons of flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
Few grains of pepper
Gradually stir in 1 cup milk (according to if you want a thin sauce or thick).
And grated cheese about 1/2 cup.
Cook on low heat.

Place the noodles and then the broccoli and cover with the sauce. Keep it hot. Sprinkle the sauce with paprika for colour. (I was out of it)

After I made it I thought some garlic shrimp would go nice with it. Next time.

Hmmm. Appears that you left the cheese out of your cheese sauce. :D I bought a head of broccoli today to make broccoli cheese soup.

Oh, that looks and sounds so delicious! I'm going to try and find some wheat noodles and something other than white flour. I have diabetes and have to cut the carbs. But I love the recipe and will try it with the alternatives;)(y)
