Brown Sugar Salmon
INGREDIENTS
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES
INGREDIENTS
- 1.5 lbs salmon fillets, skin on or off
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Pinch of salt and black pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, and smoked paprika until well combined. This is your glaze.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. This helps the glaze stick better.
- Place the salmon on the prepared baking sheet. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Use PARCHMENT PAPER!
- Brush the brown sugar glaze generously over the top of each salmon fillet.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your salmon. The glaze should be bubbly and slightly caramelized.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 2 minutes before serving.
NOTES
- For extra flavor, you can broil the salmon for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning the sugar.
- If you prefer a thicker glaze, reduce the soy sauce slightly or increase the brown sugar by 1 teaspoon.
- This recipe pairs well with steamed rice and roasted asparagus.
