Budweiser Clydesdale

Love these guys. I saw some that were retired to the vet school at the university I worked at in TN. Their feet are HUGE!

I remember "Goody Two Shoes", whose field we had to cross when visiting my grandmother.

Whenever she saw us she would give a whinny of pleasure and come thundering across the field at full gallop, shrieking with delight all the way and stop in a four legged power slide with a shower of mud or dust , depending on the season, just inches away! Needless to say we, too, were shrieking with delight!

She would then escort us sedately to the gate at the end of the field.

I suppose now they'd tie her up somewhere and send us for counselling.

I got to feed an apple to one of the Clydesdale at Sea World years ago. I felt like I was feeding the Trojan Horse but he took the apple gently from the palm of my hand and his lips were like velvet. I've never been a "horse lover" but those guys really get to me....such gentle giants.

Just saw them in St. Louis last summer. Bush has a really nice tour set up. Lots of fun and free beer at the end. A few pictures.

I wanted to bail out the horse behind the bars, but they wouldn't take a check.

Beautiful baby Ken, thanks for posting that. :love_heart: I saw them in person with my sister years ago, and she took some pics of us and the horses on her camera, but never sent them to me. Now they're probably lost among thousands.
