Burning question of the day: Rice Krispies

How is it that we put a man on the moon years ago, but nobody has figured out how to make Rice Krispies stay crisp long enough to eat the whole bowlful before they get soggy and before they stop snapping, crackling, and popping?

This definitely an important quality-of-life problem.

Nice but it didn't solve the problem...just pretended it wasn't there:mad:

It's easy. Keep the cereal in a cup beside your bowl. Sprinkle a few in and eat them, do again and again until finished your crispy cereal. Also do not sit and listen each time for the snap, crackle, pop or the few will be soggy. You could also dump them all in the bowl and then chug them in a few swallows.

I'm a regular oatmeal fan, no instant.

Have you tried powdered milk?

I hated milk on my cereal as a kid, but always ate Rice Krispies or Kellogs Corn Flakes. I ate them dry with a glass of milk to go with it....problem solved. :D

switch to rice chex, or use rice milk or both. How do you know they are not snap crackle and pop? had a hearing test lately?

I am disgusted with Rice Krispies. Aside from the fact that they turn to mush, I was thrilled that they came out with a gluten free version. They taste terrible and cost more. I tried to make Rice Krispie treats with the regular as well as the gluten version they just don't seem to turn out the way I remembered as a kid. They use to be nice a chewy now they seem to crumble and the texture is dry. To be fair it could be the marshmallows. They tamper with everything these days. My Dad was the only person who loved mushy cereal. If he thought he was going to have a bowl of cereal for a late night snack,he would put the cereal and the milk in a bowl about an hour before he was going to eat it. By that time you could actually cut it with a knife. I was so repulsed I couldn't watch him eat it. I would do anything to watch him enjoy his cereal just one more time.

Rice Krispies and Rice in general is and has always been gluten free. They just put it on the box to make people think its new. All organic is another example. Go to a grocery store and tell them you want a non organic tomato'

Original Rice Krispies cereal is not gluten free. Ithas malt flavoring which contains gluten.

I'm new to the forum, hi everybody. Geeez, what are you folks doing up in the middle of the night and the early morning hours ranting about cereal??? It's so refreshing to find that there is something substantive to talk about  ! WHAT A RELIEF from the daily assault of our new president's activities. Every issue is so VOLATILE, and often I can "argue" both sides and after a bit it just wears me out. Do I want to give sanctuary to refugee families who need to esape life threatening circumstances - yes, yes, yes. Do I want to identify and block would-be terrorists intent on entering the U.S. to harm us - yes, yes, yes. I need a break from all this - I think I'll go to the kitchen and have a big bowl of (what else?) RICE KRISPIES. We are living in crazy times it seems, thanks for understanding, I just needed a time-out.

I heard they found a dead body, face first in a bowl of Rice Krispies with a banana stuck in his ear.

They think it's a cereal killer..

or you knock the box off the table, cereal falls on floor,

difference between Dallas Cowboys and rice Krispies, cereal belongs in a bowl.

ok ok

I grew up eating corn flakes and rice krispies both of which get soggy. I never appreciated cereal til the fruit n fiber ones came out. I'd really rather have a hot breakfast but will turn to cereal for a snack sometimes. I have to buy lactose free milk and it's twice the price but lasts twice as long but it's just me and not always worth it just for cereal.

I know, I like those cold sweet cereals too as a treat sometimes, but they are really not very healthy for me and expensive.
