Buying a new car

Through Costco or Sams, anyone do this? USAA used to have a car buying deal years ago.

We ordered a MB, but haven't gotten around to financing yet. I'm telling my wife to try a private sale instead of trading in so we can get a little more $$.

I'd like to hear if anyone has used, as you mentioned, Costco or Sams and felt they really did get a 'good deal'. We are going to first look at ratings on gas-hybrids, then look for 0% financing.

Interesting thread, I’ve seen this option at Costco and been curious about it and the value of a premium membership fee.

I used to sell my old cars off the lawn but today there are so many scammers out there that I would be reluctant to do it unless I had no other option.

Good luck!

I have thought about this place before.

Get your financing in advance from your known sources.

If you get extended warranty ... only get the one through the manufacturer.

I have a friend (neighbor) that bought a car from Carvana. He said he would do it again. He liked the fact the he was able to get the exact color and accessories that he wanted. He sold his SUV by listing it on the bulletin board at the grocery store.

I have traded a few vehicles in over the years. But I always had in my mine the price I wanted, and when asked about trading in, I say I have someone interested in X amount.... If they match it then fine. We have been considering replacing DW Jetta... same place would bought new, said it was only worth $500 but would give $2000... Cant find one similar for less than $4500
