Cable company no longer mailing paper bills

Email this morning from Spectrum. It said that this month's bill will be the last mailed paper bill. No choice to opt out of paperless billing. Sounds like my PT who never mailed me a bill for services. They said they don't do that.

Paperless billing is okay for people that don't mind not seeing their bill in hand or have a printer to make a copy. Even my electric service charges and extra fee for mailing a paper invoice. Someday every business will be this way.

I used to think they did this just to save on the cost of postage. Thinking of it more, I have concluded that a paper bill or statement is much more likely to result in customer dissatisfaction and complaints. The longer that rate increase goes unnoticed the more their bottom line is enhanced.

We get electronic billing, & auto pay has been our choice for billing since that became an option. Zero problems so far.

Life electronically doesn't have to be difficult.
If I thought keeping a bill was needed I'd copy & paste the content to a note pad & put it in a file under whatever that bill was for.

Probably the most convenient is paying expenses with a credit card for instant documentation. Been with one credit card company for 37 years now with no problems. Like the cash back feature that goes with using it.

I am fully auto-pay and paperless. I have to say “I like it very much”
Same goes for trading. I do it with an app on my phone. It’s great! Thinking back to the old days… calling the broker, writing the checks, paying the commissions - argh! What a PITA.

@debodun what will you do now? My cable company did the same so I pay online with my CC. However, they did offer an opt in type thing if you still really wanted paper billing.

I day trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange using my trader account with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. Instant buys or sells at $6.95 for either one. My best choice recently has been Hut 8 bought at $3.11 CDN , in June, trading today at $27.10 CDN. I have 4,000 of it now.
