You know after reading holly's post on cell phone etiquette it got me thinking about the old days. The rotary phones. We couldn't text before calling then. We couldn't even leave voicemails in the early days. You just called and people answered the phone.
If they didn't answer they were either gone, sleeping or dealing with stuff. I have voicemail on my phone for a reason. If I have no intentions of answering the phone, it will not matter if you text first, leave a voicemail or just call. I will not answer. If it's important and you don't leave a voicemail, don't expect to hear from me.
With all the new rules in place for etiquette these days I'm thinking we must have been some real heathens back in the day just showing up at someone's house. LOL!
I remember party lines. Those were something else. Those required some cooperation from the neighbors. Glad we don't still have those considering the way many people are these days.
Things have changed so much over the years. Many changes I don't really care for but it's all in the name of technology. I'm not so sure that some of the changes are for the better. The electric vehicles concern me because of cost to purchase one, cost to charge them and the pressure that will be put on the generator stations. Plus they're a fire risk. Apparently worse than a regular vehicle if they can't be parked in a garage safely. But this is life. Life is full of changes we hafta accept whether we like them or not.
