Good morning!

The weekend is over so time to get back to work. :cautious:

Last night I got a new friend on the Torn City game and he led me to one of the factions on the game called Plague Inc. So I applied and became a member. They will help me thrive and work through the game. These games require a lot of time and patience so I might as well relax and enjoy it. I dropped into their Discord server this morning and visited a little with them. I keep getting tossed in jail and someone keeps getting me out LOL!

Evergy messaged me at 10:30 this morning saying the power was out. I recall going to the bathroom around then and I never lost any power. Weird.

If everyone shows up for work we'll have a full crew today except for one out having surgery and one on vacation. One might have Covid. I don't know for sure yet. But I think it's time to go back to eating alone.

Might get some rain and it's supposed to be 87 today. I don't know about everyone else's hospitals but ours is very stingy with the a/c and it's worse on the weekends. So it's usually hot as hell at work. It's miserable.

Struggling to get past level 3 in Torn City at the moment but I keep at it. I think I need to start using some energy every day to attack low level players to bring my own stats up.

Been a good day so far. We are starting to see more staff getting vivid throughout the facility. I wonder if we'll be masking before long.
 
I meant to type Covid. My stupid tablet keeps auto correcting. I don't know how to turn that off. LOL!

I got some information and help with my new game this morning. I will mess with it some more tonight. This game is full of information and things to do for a text based game. Whoever designed this did a good job. Dad is having trouble getting logged in on his tablet. He doesn't use his desktop anymore. So he may not be playing anymore. I told him I understood if he decided to drop it. He was mainly doing it to help improve our relationship before he dies. I think our relationship has gone as far as it's gonna go because he will not open up and let me in. So, there's that for today.

Working tonight. Only one team out tonight that I'm aware of. Won't be long and Covid will be in circulation down in ER because nobody is masking except the drs. and a few of the nurses. Several are out with Covid in the registration office. It's pathetic. They know there's an increase so you would think they would do more to protect themselves as well as other patients in the hospital. Our employee health people haven't even bothered to up our masking situation again. It's irresponsible.

I'm off Thursday so I'm gonna hang out and do my thing.

Our place of employment asked us how many were planning to get the vax so they'd know what to order. So if I can't get there soon enough next Friday, I will not get one cuz it's first come first serve. And they don't like to open a vial after 3 pm so I guess I will go to Walgreens of CVS or somewhere and get the damn thing even if I hafta pay for it. Might be my last one. We'll see. I am curious as to whether or not I will get it again if I don't get the vax. It's just easier to mask up and get the meds for it if I get sick.

They want us to wear CAPR hoods for better protection but they never told us this. I don't know if I can wear one with my anxiety and all. They don't communicate worth a crap where I work. It's ridiculous and then they expect you to know what's going on. :rolleyes:

Having some Stouffer's chicken and noodles and some pretzels for lunch. I might change my internet service to the 100 mbps for $49 now that I no longer have a gaming console or need for that much speed. I pay $89 now for 500 mbps and don't see that much difference really. It's a little faster but I don't need that for what little I do now.

I'm off today so I'm just relaxing and doing some wash and dishes. Playing around online.
 
It's been 4 yrs since the news of COVID-19 and all the mandates that were pressed upon us as a nation. From the vaccines to our current state of existence. While the majority felt their rights were being violated and pushed against the new norms, I embraced the isolation and was ok with the mandates for the most part. I've had almost all my vaccines except for this years yet which I plan to get this month if I don't get Covid first. I've had it twice. Lost my mother to it in 2021.

Over the course of these past 4 yrs I have found it to be a time of self reflection and the healing of some damage from my life. I welcomed the isolation. The masks freaked me out but I have adjusted. I still wear mine every day at work and whenever I go out just to help protect my lungs and others who may be in a weakened state.

I have enjoyed new hobbies and keeping myself entertained to the point that I'm ok with life as it is now. I adjust to changes here and there and go on with living. I imagine those who were more social and more outgoing had some real hard times trying to adjust. I wonder what will happen to them if we hafta go back into lockdown status. I can be stubborn at times but sometimes letting things be the way they are can help with other things we aren't even aware of.

I am at peace with where I am now in life. I try to not worry about things so much because I know that God has my back no matter what. I have noticed we have become a nation of complainers when things don't go according to plan. But this is part of life. Sometimes changes hafta be made in order to keep on existing. We have spent a lifetime adjusting to changes. Why should now be any different?

I don't find it to be that restrictive because I have been able to adjust as I have gone along. In the beginning it was terrifying just going to work. It's still unnerving working in situations where coworkers are careless with isolation controls put in place so I hunker down and do what I can to protect myself. It's all I can do. I am hoping that there may be light at the end of the tunnel but given the state of the masses and some of the unwillingness to protect themselves for whatever reason, I think it is doubtful we will ever be free of Covid.

As time goes on, I wonder how many more of these viruses we will hafta deal with later on and if people will still fight whatever protections are put in place. Eventually that stubbornness will likely get us all killed. I did my part as best I could. At the end of the day that is all anyone can do.

The important thing is that I have found some healing for the broken places in my life. If I have, maybe others have too. I don't fault people for wanting to live their lives. Each of us lives life differently. I do hope that if you don't mask or get your vax or stay home that God will look after you and keep you safe. Always.
 
In my Torn City game I got married to another player for game benefits. LOL! He's younger than me IRL and lives in another country. Nice guy. Too funny.

Weekend is here. Will hafta catch up on cleaning I was unable to get done tonight. Have a great weekend!
 
A lot of the older gaming consoles that use internet services are no longer supported by their makers. Nintendo has dropped services for many of their older consoles. The Wii being one of them. I got a game for my Wii from a coworker last night but if it asks for an update to the Wii before I can play it I won't be able to use it. Plus if there's no single player option I can't use it. It looks like a cute game.

I am getting better at committing crimes. There is so much information in this game it is almost overwhelming. But I'm having a good time. The people are fun too.

It's my day off so just doing some resting. No plans for the day. Just kind of lingering. LOL!

Having a little lunch and checking my chat sites. Gonna peek at Fakebook pretty soon.

Can't wait for vacation to get here. The 23rd. Have a super Monday!

he's 30 irl and an entire 8 hrs difference from me.

it's handy to have a mate in game cuz if we need something we can help each other out. longer we stay hitched the more merit points we get. useful for gameplay.


getting ready for another day at work. it's been pretty chilly at night and then warmer during the day. probably taking a break from Torn tonight and playing another game instead. a coworker gave me Disney Universe for my Wii and it's cute. think i'll start on that tonight.

yesterday i don't know how i managed it but i was fishing a can of soup out of the grocery bag and racked my finger on it and it split my skin open. just like that. trying to keep it from getting infected. odd how you get some of the strangest injuries as you age.

i am trying to decide whether or not i want to keep prime. the one and two day shipping thing is useful. just wish it was for all the products not just certain ones. plus the free books and games to play. and music. plus i think there's podcasts too. i need to get a new controller for the laptop though. or a good used one. we have a couple gaming places in town that has used stuff that's been refurbished i think. i have so much gaming stuff going on that if anyone says i have no life i laugh cuz i keep plenty busy.

Morning. Working today. I think we're fully staffed today so no team outs or extras. Yay! We are getting a raise which will bump our base pay to $15 an hr. and with the daily differential it will be $17 an hr and on weekends it will be $19 an hr. I am so thankful for that. Plus the entire hospital is due for merit raises so that may go on top of the other.

I might have another gaming option for the Chromebook that would possibly offer me more games if it's cloud based. If I got Hulu back for the $7.99 package I could then drop Prime. I'm not using all the Prime benefits anyway. We'll see. I'm waiting to see if I have to download the games. Only problem is I would have to pay for the games. On Prime I can cloud game for free but there's only a few games available. However if I got the Xbox cloud gaming and pd for the games and they decide to shut that down then I'm out that money. Something to ponder.
 
Working again today. It's Thursday night football on Prime. I might watch the Broncos vs Chiefs game tonight after work. If it's still available to watch.

One more week or so til vacation. I'm ready to relax and do nothing. We got a Gambino's Pizza here. We had one in my hometown that was delish and the stuff from the one here looks really good. Might order that over the weekend as they deliver.

I was wrong it's more like 10 days to vacation but that's ok. LOL!

I'm having the Uber guy take me to look for controllers tomorrow. I'm ok with refurbished ones.

I took my first ever ambulance ride back in March due to my second round of covid. Still waiting for the bill to get processed. It's been through Cigna and they pd a lousy $21 on a $750 ride. I purchased MASA transport last year so it is going through there now and it is ridiculously slow. The EMS lady said they mostly handle international stuff so that's why it takes so long. It is looking like it will be next year before I can get the car in to get it repaired.

It is fall like weather for a few days. Might bring my book home with me tonight and do some reading. I hafta order groceries too this weekend. I don't think I need a lot so that will help.

Found an article this evening on a hospital here in KS that's among many that have either already shut down or are in danger of it because the state refused to expand medicaid. Herington hospital closed its doors and supposedly half the hospitals in KS are at risk. Mostly the smaller town hospitals. Such a shame.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend Marci. As usual I'm not doing much but have some things, like laundry, again, that is waiting for me. Ugh....

Yeah I got dishes and I hafta get caught up on my washing. But first I'm goin hunting for a refurbished controller to play video games with. Maybe a couple if the price is right. I'm going back to playing Fortnite if I find one or two that will do the job. I see they have an Acer controller on Amazon that would work. But I was hoping to have something this weekend so we'll see.

I have experienced much disappointment this evening. Amazon Luna only lets you play the games for free for a limited time. They don't tell you that. So I wasn't able to play anymore tonight on there so, I signed up for xbox game pass for cloud gaming.

Had to get the Ultimate pass to play most of the games. The wait times to get queued into the games was ludicrous. So, I cancelled that and redownloaded Grand Theft Auto 3 for free on Google play. I cancelled Prime and got the cheap acct. on Hulu. I am over it today.

Watching Reservation Dogs and chillin out.
 
I have found quite a collection of free online game sites that play on the browser that cost nothing. I have more than enough now to keep myself entertained. I don't need Prime or Xbox and their extravagant charges to my pocket book. LOL!

Waiting for groceries. I had some creamed chipped beef over toast for lunch. Having a cola right now.

Is anyone else here signed up for Hulu that has any suggestions for stuff they watch on there that they like?
