I've been watching Raising Hope and it has Cloris Leachman in it. She's hilarious. She plays the grandma and they can't afford the nursing home or something so she has to live with them and she's senile as hell.

Last night she kept ringing the door bell and when the husband opened the door she was standing there like a little kid asking "what's this button do?" I nearly spit pop all over the laptop.
 
Good morning.

A friend of mine is gonna have her BF take my car to his shop soon and get me an estimate. I'm excited about that.

Got a call this morning from the clinic. My A1C is down to 6.0. I'm still gonna take Metformin to try to keep it at bay. I had read that low iron can make A1C go up too. I've been taking iron supplement. Not a lot though. Don't wanna poison myself. I think I got enough going on. LOL!

I have been partaking of sugar free products and trying to watch my carbs so hopefully this has all helped.

I hafta go back to work today. I don't want to. LOL!

I tried some sushi tonight with cooked meat in it and it was called a California Roll. Pretty good stuff.

Got games to play tomorrow on the Wii. Gonna cut my hair too I think.

Got interrupted during my haircut but it is finished now and I gotta go shower and blow it out. Might post a photo when it's done. :p

Well I got my health insurance enrollment done. Helped my ride last night with his. He's from Thailand and doesn't always understand things. So he's signed up now too.

Think I'm gonna stay on 500 mg of Metformin a day for a while and see how that goes. Each time I try to up it I get GI issues. Doc said I could go up 250 mg at a time. I might do that. We'll see.

It's my weekend to work. Woohoo!
 
Waiting to go to work. Had to cancel my Hulu account because it kept stopping and giving me error messages and asking me to restart my laptop. My free TV stuff doesn't do that. They get you suckered into buying the stuff and then you never get what you're paying for. Very annoying.

I'm planning to take up crocheting again. Getting bored. Work was pretty productive yesterday. Might do some more vacuuming today in the high traffic spots. We'll see. It depends on how bad things are when I get there. The day shift gal is somewhat lazy. Or rude. I am unsure which. Maybe both. LOL!

Some nice weather today. Gotta take the trash out later for Monday. Have a good day everyone!

Good morning.
Having my coffee and waiting for my crochet stuff to arrive. I can't wait to relax later and watch tv and crochet. ☺️

Trying to decide what I want for take out today. I might get Chipotle. Waiting to hear what my estimate will be to get the car fixed. Hoping it won't be too bad. But prepared for the worst. Unless they tell me they can't fix it. Then I will have a problem. But not gonna worry.

It's in the 70s out right now. It's nice. It's my day off. I'm enjoying myself. See y'all later!
 
ended up getting gambino's pizza. plus their dessert pizza. mmmmmm mmm! good stuff!

my car will be ready wednesday i think. i'm so excited. since my ride would never let me give him a cent for gas in a whole year, i got him something for his computer desk. it's a mat for his mouse and keyboard from a video game he likes. hope he's tickled with it.

thankful i didn't hafta take the car to the dealership. should be much cheaper this way.

i think i have finally gotten tired of the debates on covid and vaccines. i'm just gonna do my own thing and hope for the best outcome. it's sad the divide this has caused our nation. my only hope is that everyone stays safe no matter what their choices are.

the hospitals are no help in staving off the spread of anything. they can't even manage to follow procedures in preventing the spread of infectious diseases. it's pathetic.

i'm having a little something to eat before i head out for a day of cleaning toilets and mopping floors. woohoo! we're gonna be doing a lot of trash and dash this week because we are short 3 people. plus we got somebody coming to look at something so she reminded us to work on our high dusting. so gotta make time for that.

the other lady just dusts the vents to make it look like she's dusted and the rest of the area is a dust bunny village. so i get stuck trying to make up for it. good thing i like what i do now. lol!

I know cleaning a hospital has to be a thankless job, @MarciKS but the hospital would be in sorry shape without hard work environmental services staff. *thank you * for all you do— it DOES make a difference!
 
got the car back. gonna still let my ride come get me so that i can give him a gift tonight for taking me back and forth to work for so long. i will check the tires and drive it tomorrow.

i think i'm stuck training today. not looking forward to it as this gal is a know it all and non stop talker. gonna be a long 8 hrs.

Well y'all yesterday I got curious about how much the linen carts weigh that I hafta drag to the ER twice a day. They are 380 lbs. When I'm going down the hall at a pretty good click people are stupid enough to walk in front of my cart. Just once I'd like to gently clip one of them. LOL!
 
Beyond discouraged and disgusted tonight. In the span of a year and two separate garages I have spent $800 and the damn car still isn't running right. I'm now gonna hafta take it to Ford. Nobody will do what I ask them to and check the things I ask them to check. They work on it, take it for a drive and declare good. It won't even stay running at the corner unless I have one foot on the break and one on the gas. I am just fed up.
 
Thursday when I'm off I'm calling the Ford place to see what their schedule looks like. Maybe I can get an appt on the books and then drive it out there and get an uber home. I'm so irritated and actually depressed right now because of this. Tired of getting screwed over. Maybe I should make them think I have a husband. Then maybe they wouldn't do this crap to me. Some days I hate being a woman.

I might take my tax refund to the sporting goods place and invest in an electric bike for the just in case days. Walking is too dangerous here.

I wish I could go back to my hometown and my old job and apt building but that would be financial suicide.
 
my friend sent her bf back over and they're taking the car back to the shop at no cost to me to check for a vacuum leak and look at something else yet. i told him i don't have any more cash. and the shop he works for doesn't take credit cards or allow payments. if they can't get it fixed then it's going to ford no more arguments.
 
I feel for you, I really do. That was one of the big reasons I chose to live downtown.........so I would not have to buy a car. Even brand new ones need repairs. My friend hardly drives her car anymore because twice she has had to have it towed. Cost her about $1500. to get it fixed.........still isn't fixed. She has a mobility scooter she uses most of the time. Yesterday she went with me on the bus to Walmart. I think she is on the verge of giving up the car.
 
if i didn't need the car for work i would let it go. but the bus stops running at a certain time of night and i work past that. during the day i'd hafta rely on uber and at night i'd hafta use the cab. in the winter nobody wants to come out so i'd be screwed and the people i work with get kinda crappy attitudes if they get asked to get a ride home too often. he's got it so it's not dying right now. we'll see how it goes.
