Can only save one thing

My outdoor shoes, my sun hat and my handbag. (But of course, it is more than three!! my handbag has Floss. Tpast/brush, sun and reading glasses, carbon face mask for air pollution days, ear plugs, cell phone, id/credit cards, eye drops, nightguard, tissues, keys....)

Until you’ve had to actually make this decision, you don’t realize it doesn’t work the way you’d thought. I’ve answered this question before and said that I’d had to evacuate immediately. A neighbourhood house was on fire, middle of the night, so hot and dry that any breeze would have wiped out the whole subdivision, or worse. Pounding on the door and the doorbell. They left as soon as they knew we were inside and moving. I grabbed some clothes, put on my sandals and my glasses & phone from beside the bed. I remember turning around in a circle and realizing nothing mattered. The fellow whose house burned hesitated to grab his glasses and phone, his wife had left seconds before him, and he was showered with exploding glass.
