I've been having constipation and sometimes diarrhea. Also intermittent lower abdomen pains. Can diverticulitis cause intermittent pains or is it more a constant pain? Was diagnosed years ago with diverticulosis.
yes it certainly can.. but it also could be IBS..classic symptoms of IBS tbhI've been having constipation and sometimes diarrhea. Also intermittent lower abdomen pains. Can diverticulitis cause intermittent pains or is it more a constant pain? Was diagnosed years ago with diverticulosis.
Rarely.... usually during a bout of Diverticulitis, you have no appetite.. or very littleWhat about appetite can you have a good appetite with diverticulitis?
..but that' a double edged sword.. more fibre when you're having an attack is the last thing you need....vicious circle..I've been diagnosed with both Diverticulitis and IBS and had the worst attack of one (or both) of them that I've ever had in my life just last night; Huzz was about to take me to the emergency room but it passed.
So I can sympathize, marilouisep, hugs. They used to tell sufferers of Diverticulitis to stay away from seeds (what I had eaten yesterday; it was tiny little poppy seeds so I thought I'd be okay, wrong) and nuts. But the latest research--according to the Mayo Clinic site anyway--says that's no longer the case; the only thing that sufferers of both Divert. and IBS can do with their diet to help is eat more fiber.
I know; it's so frustrating...but that' a double edged sword.. more fibre when you're having an attack is the last thing you need....vicious circle..
