Can you have too much sex appeal, (no, not me obviously!)?

Heart had too much sex appeal in the 80's and the sisters hated it. They were serious musicians in the 70's, with songs like Magic Man and Dreamboat Annie, but the 80's introduced MTV and their manager insisted they wear bustiers and strut around like vixens. Even the songs were trite. Sad, but that is what sold at the time.

I see what you mean, and of course Debbie Harry as "Blondie" was a sensation wasn't she, so perhaps it goes with the territory(?). :)

Madonna is a good example, and as far as men goes, "Prince, or the artist formerely known as Prince" used raunchiness pretty much all the time didn't he, (on the sleazy end of things I'd say, though not wishing to speak I'll of the dead).
Yes, Madonna is a good example. I liked Prince--I don't know if he was sleazy--I didn't see many of his videos. I loved his song Little Red Corvette:

I just watched that video again and loved it--he's so sexy, sexy, sexy in it!! Woo-hoo!

Yeah, what's wrong with sex appeal? How about a young Don Johnson from Miami Vice? Young Rob Lowe?
If there is nothing wrong with sex appeal, or having a surfeit of it, then you've given an answer to the question posed in the OP and thread title.
As someone else said, there wouldn't be many humans (or marriages) without any of it about!

Struck me as a bit effeminate in the video you posted, but I think his raunchiness was emphasised in others, if memory serves me right(?).

Well we all have masculine and feminine characteristics šŸ˜ƒšŸ’œ
So you might say, but when a comedian and radio presenter in the UK called Don McClean, (not the "American Pie" singer), was told he should get in touch with his feminine side he declared he hadn't got one, and also went on to state that "whatever was on his mind went on to his tongue", so you'd have known if he had!

Debbie Harry definitely had sex appeal, but she was a Playboy Bunny prior to her singing career so I think she was much more prepared for being a sex symbol than Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart. She certainly pulled it off. What a beautiful woman!

Well this might not be so on topic but...when I was in my twenties, I went out with a really handsome dude, lots of sex appeal. When he dumped me, my mom said it was a good thing, as she said that he was too handsome for his own good. Actually she said he was too good looking.

David Bowie, Nancy Sinatra, Lou Reed, Truman Capote, Andy Warhol, Elvis Presley, Charles Mansion..etc were famous for their sex appeal one way or another. Sex appeal is the number one reason for population growth and you and I are here.

Remember the saying "sex sells"? Of course sex sells, the world depends on it to populate and replenish life on earth. The same is true with certain animal life that display vivid colors in order to attract a mate.

This is sex appeal, it is humanity that cast a dismal shadow of impurity and guilt based on the faulty concept that sexual fantasy/urges should be avoided by all good Christian men and women. Religion is about control backed up by guilt and remorse of the very thing life is supposed to do, procreate.

I was friends with Lou Reed's cousin. He was quite cute and I did like him. He was super tall.

Sex appeal always seems to be linked to, sexual attraction. Albert Einstein the physicist was never going to be a pin-up, yet he enjoyed sex appeal as Barbara Wolff, former archivist at the Albert Einstein Archives in Jerusalem explains.

What is definitely true: many women felt attracted to Albert Einstein, and he himself not only enjoyed his own sex-appeal but enjoyed being together with women, possibly rather than with men, with the exception of inspiring conversation partners.
However, sex alone was not what infatuated him in the first place, and his dearest friends among women were those with whom he shared other passions: reading philosophical and literary texts, sailing, long walks, also a certain kind of humour and a similar look into the world.

I think sex appeal is very subjective. It's just different for many as to what one finds sexy.
For me, sexiness comes from the mind and is evident in everything she does. So having too much of that .... not likely.
As far as I'm concerned, a woman could have a perfect 10 body, but if she's full of herself and thinks she's hot, it's a big turn off for me. That's not what I find sexy in a woman. A sexy woman is interesting, charming, alluring, witty, flirtatious, and seductive.
Can you have too much of that? No way.
