As a hearing impaired since the age of 3,you cannot "read" peoples emotions just by looking at their eyes.

Its takes body language,facial expressions and maybe the eyes to determind peoples emotions and their thoughts.

In the past I would say I could read people's emotions but just as soon as I would make a claim like that I get it wrong. I can't keep up with people who change gears fast so to speak. Some people can turn it on and off. Surprisingly I can pick up on a stranger as quick as anyone like if I'm in a store or in public. It's the casual acquaintance or neighbor that can be puzzling at times. I will say I know people that are excellent at putting on a front and/or will go out of their way to put on a show. I think pets are good at sensing emotions.
