Canada’s most ‘fighting-est’ ship rings in 81st anniversary: HMCS Haida

Haida is the last of the WW 2 Tribal class of Destroyers. She was one of the 27 that were built, all of which were named after Tribes in the British Empire. The Canadian Tribals were named after First Nations, like Huron, Athabaska, Sioux, Nootka, Iroquois, and Haida. The Haida people live on the coast of Vancouver Island in the Pacific coastal area of Canada. British Tribals had names like Zulu, Pathan, Sikh, and Matabeli. Haida is permanently moored in Hamilton, Ontario's harbor. She is a National Historic site, operated by Parks Canada. JIM.
