Can't call bank's automated teller, what's the problem?

It worked fine until a week ago. When I call, I get a recorded message "Welcome to Bank Link 24. To access the automated teller press 1". When I do there's a message, "Wait while I connect your call." then the line goes dead. I called the bank's main office twice and all the representative said was, "We'll report it to our IT people." After a few days I tried again, but it still wouldn't put the call through. I then called the bank's local branch and the person I spoke with said he tried it and it worked fine for him. I have no problem accessing other businesses automated call-in systems. The bank is implying that's it's a problem with my phone and not on their end.
Trouble shooting I've tried that didn't fix anything:
I have 3 land line phones and disconnected two of them at a time and tried using each phone one at a time.
Dialing the number directly instead of using speed dial.
Deleting the number on speed dial and re-entering it.
Disconnecting the answering machine and caller ID modules.
Rebooting the phone modem.

Don't you live somewhere where service is hard to get?

When I was reading your post, I got the feeling the trouble wasn't at the bank's end. So my next guess the trouble is with your phone service (not specifically in your house).

Have you called your phone company?

@debodun, it's pretty likely that your bank has a website, where you can check you balance, tranfer funds and such.

I don't know if my bank still has the phone teller thing, I quit using it in the '90s.

he Cable companies are the hardest to get ahold of. They know that we're all hooked on either the internet, TV, streaming, our cellphones or a combination of all of them, so I suppose they put themselves above us sometimes.... Oh I'd better not say too much or my services will disappear.
