Can't get a new prescription unless I have an office call

It might be helpful to some readers here;

that I've noticed that a great many doctor offices are going by this policy, now.

If myself or dh, haven't been to an appointment at their office , in the past 3 months, script requests are not approved.
😳

Some of them are okay approving a script, if you've either been there within 3 months,or have an appointment already scheduled for within Next 3 months.

Some are 6 months, but I do have to keep a lot more extreme close eye on when each script will run out of refills, or like mentioned above, still have refills, but will be past the time period when a pharmacy is allowed to give the refills.

My BP combo. has been prescribed by my GP, not Cardiologist.
I've never have any issue for Refill by either using Portal or call GP's office.

If your Cadiologist's office does not send the needed BP med within two days or so, if I were you, I'd seek for another Doctor who is willing to work for me.
But, it's all up to you.

The pharmacy is supposed to call me when I have a refill ready. I am at a loss to explain why they didn't BEFORE the refill expired The Pharmacy does not call me for 'refill.'
I always check on my 'refill' status on 'Portal.' It's very convenient to have Portal of CVS.
The Pharmacy does not call me for the refill.

This is getting ridiculous. I called the doctor's office and explained again what was happening. The person said she'd "Look into it." That was 4 hours ago. I called the pharmacy to see if the scrips were ready and a recorded massage said that they were "under review."
I have the same problem with another med once a month. This month it's not due till Sunday, an off day. I need them delivered and they only deliver on tuesdays and fridays, both too late for me. So what I do is tell the dr.'s assistant that all that is fine but if there can't be a delivery on the day I need them then I will either be dead from seizures, or otherwise impared. I start this about 3 days before I need them and by the time they are needed I have them. Sometimes you must stand up on your hind legs and let them know you pay their wages.

I know they hate to see me call, but that's life in the big city.
