Car Attack Heidelberg Germany. Injuries, Driver Shot.

A car ran into a crowd in Heidelberg Germany. At least 3 injured, driver. Driver tried to escape fleeing with a knife before being shot.

Shocking turn of events. Melbourne recently had a similar attack where a man who was apparently mentally unstable drove down the footpath of a busy city street, mowing down pedestrians, killing and injuring people in the process. It was not, as first suspected, an act of terrorism.

At this stage the Heidelberg attack seems similar.

There was no immediate word on the man’s possible motives, but as the BBC adds, terrorism is not suspected, police say. Also, according to local media reports, the attacker was "mentally unstable patient."

So sorry to hear this. Heidelberg is a lovely, friendly city -- I lived there almost ten years and loved every single minute of it.
