Car/driver runs down pedestrians, 7 killed, 6 injured Texas

Getting rid of military type guns would help! AR-15's should only be in the hands of the military! Reducing the number of shells in the magazine would help. I'm sure someone here knows more about the weaponry available to Americans than I do!
Whether it’s an AR-15 or a .22, both do the same, they kill, except the AR will also do a little butchering. I would prefer that people with a hunting license be the only people allowed to purchase an AR-15. That seems to be the big augment for having an AR. “I use if for hunting.”

Personally, I like the AR-15 fully automatic. It’s easy to control and although it’s a bit heavy, it is well balanced. If I’m not going to shoot anything with large bore artillery, I would choose the AR-15. I’m talking about while in conflict, not to carry down the street.

Ummm, the .22 isn't going to spray bullets all over a theater, mall, church, school even a military base! So you go hunting with an AR-15? The AR-15 is good for only one thing and that is kill people! When do you start?

I use it to hunt. The only way the AR-15 is going to “spray” bullets is if has been converted to fully automatic and has a C-mag or “High Capacity” magazine.

So you hunt for the thrill of the kill and the trophy. You said that the AR-15 did a "little butchering", so apparently you don't plan to eat the meat you kill with the AR-15. My husband hunted with the normal rifles used for hunting, and we ate what he killed. We no longer hunt because we can afford to buy our meat in the grocery store. We love seeing wild animals running around our area, we have no interest in killing any of them!

You know taking away all the guns will help but it wouldn't stop the crazies. Take away the guns and they will buy and use knives (look to Canada for a great example). Take away knives and they will use baseball bats? As someone said, "If there is a will, there is a way."

If you own an AR-15 fully automatic, you own it illegally. Fully automatic rifles of any type are illegal unless it was manufactured before 1986 and if you have a Federal Firearms License, which are very expensive and you'd need a good reason to have one. You might be talking about your experience in the military, though.

A common cartridge for the AR-15 is the .223, which is the one on the left. The cartridges to the right of it are for a .22 rifle.

An AR-15 .223 bullet isn't much bigger than that of a .22 LR, but the case holds 12 times more powder, which is why it is so much more deadly. A bullet from a .22 LR isn't going to rip your face off, but .223 from an AR-15 can, as what happened to the young girl in the Allen, Texas shooting.

That is very true, but those other methods of killing people aren't as efficient as the AR-15.
