Cash App Founder Bob Lee Stabbed To Death In San Francisco

This is such sad news. He was so young. Cash App has come in so handy to use with our family, friends and business associates. May he R.I.P.
There is just too much violence in our society!!

I'm afraid I don't think I've ever heard of ''Cash App'' ..however I read the link.. and my goodness he was only young, and it seems a victim of a tandom attack... that's just terrible.. people must just be getting to the point where they're afraid to go out...

Doesn’t Bezos or Amazon own this outfit? They have the best pulled pork I have eaten.
Amazon owns Whole Foods. Amazon customers shopping at Whole Foods with a credit card used on Amazon automatically qualify for a small discount. We have two Whole Foods in southern Marin. Nice selection, much of it organic, but pricey. Morning news reported they were closing the San Francisco store, possibly temporarily, for two reasons — theft, and danger to employees. We get into San Francisco once or twice a month visiting a friend or museum. There are large parts of the city I would never park a car. God help a tourist who leaves a package on the seat of a parked car. Not only will they lose the package, but also a window.

My husband`s grandnephew was also murdered on the streets of San Francisco on January 31st. We only knew about it because I ran across his obituary in the San Francisco Chronicle. His dad is the youngest son of hubby`s eldest brother, who passed away 25 years ago at the age of 58. There was a falling out in the family years ago between the brother and my FIL,so we were no longer close with them, although at one time we were all very close. I only met this "boy" two or three times in his 29 years, and only when he was an infant and toddler. Turned out he had a horrible life-his parents divorced when he was little (I did know that)but he basically raised himself on the streets. Drugs from the age of 6 and ended up in prison in his early 20s. His mom was/is a drug addict, which shocked the heck out of us to learn as we would never have seen that coming.

Anyhow, hubby`s nephew moved out of state after his divorce and we have no idea if he was even involved in his son`s life. He and hubby are FB friends but haven`t chatted in several years and he has never mentioned his kids at all on FB. We did see a pic of him at his daughter`s wedding several years ago so I guess he did have a relationship with her.

This is the article I saw about all the murders this year in SF-they list the names of all the people. Maxwell Mason was hubby`s grandnephew. He had recently been released from prison-I think his murder was likely gang related....but that is just an assumption. https://missionlocal.org/2023/04/bob-lee-crazy-bob-mobilecoin-san-francisco-homicide/

I like to think outside the box ( a part time critical thinker)
Anyone consider his death might be connected the rumor the dollar is being prepped to collapse?
Sure, it could have been a random tragic murder like so many that happen around the world but he WAS in the banking industry. Maybe he knew something? Maybe he had told someone something he shouldn't have?
I'm open to discuss this further

I thought about that as well. Someone could have been disgruntled or could have even hired someone to kill him. I guess I watch too many True Crime episodes. I guess we will find out if they ever catch his killer.

You don’t have to live in a big city to have your items stolen. This is the norm everywhere I’ve lived. That’s in Canada. As a tourist in the US, it’s the same. Opportunists/thieves are always lurking.
Granted there have always been thieves, but in recent years the problem has grown to a size never before experienced. A Gang runs into a jewelry store, smashes all the cases, and runs out unhindered with bags of very expensive jewelry. A guy walks into a Walgreens drug store carrying a large empty canvas tote bag. A few minutes later he walks out with a bag full of loot. Tourists visiting San Francisco park their cars, see the sites, and return to find a window smashed and anything of value stolen. 17,970 San Francisco cars broken into in the first six months of 2017, and it’s not getting any better, or if it is it may be because some San Franciscans have taken to leaving their trunk lid open so thieves can see there is nothing worth stealing. Granted this is not happening everywhere, but many of our largest cities have become almost unlivable. Why? I would be glad to explain, but this forum‘s ban on certain kinds of discussion would not take kindly to my words.

The ex-wife of murdered Cash App founder Bob Lee said the arrest of a man today for his stabbing death is the 'first step towards justice'.

Lee was stabbed in the street last week. He was visiting the city from Miami, where he lived. Police are yet to confirm an identity for the suspect, but Mission Local reports he was a fellow tech executive who lives in the Bay Area.

It is unclear if the man attended the same tech conference Lee was in town for, but the pair were seen in a car together at around 2.30am, moments before the stabbing.

They had some kind of confrontation that led to the attack, according to police sources.

Krista Lee, who was previously married to the victim, told local site Fox News 2 that she remains perplexed at the suspect's motive, but that the pair knew each other.

Lee somehow staggered out of the car and was picked up on surveillance footage struggling to walk nearby after the attack.

The harrowing surveillance footage shows Lee stumbling through the city streets after being stabbed. He died in the hospital later that morning.

Lee's death was invoked as the latest example of escalating crime in the Democrat city and led to increased criticism of Mayor London Breed.

Over the weekend, she told residents not to 'jump to conclusions' about his death and said people 'will be surprised when the facts come out'.

A day after Lee's death, a former fire commissioner was attacked in the street outside his mother's house. A 24-year-old man has been arrested in that case.

Yes,it`s quite the story....or will be once all the facts come out. They are saying things like "the killer was defending his sister`s honor." Sister is married to a prominent San Franisco plastic surgeon. Bob Lee was apparently with the sister in her apartment for 90 minutes prior to his murder. She did show up at the court hearing with her husband though. We shall see....

Piggybacking off what @Mrs. Robinson posted, according to the news report the sister's brother approached Mr. Lee about being with his sister. Lee told him that nothing inappropriate happened but somehow later they wound up in the suspect's car together. After he was killed, police found a text message to Mr. Lee from the sister saying she just wanted to know if he was alright because she realized that her brother came down hard on him during their encounter. She thanked Mr. Lee for handling himself in a classy manner..basically referring to him as a man of class. She signed it love. Maybe there's even more to it; time will tell.

So, the bottom line is that it had nothing to do with the "horrific crime" on the streets of San Francisco. Middle finger to Elon Musk for his insensitive and misleading post on Twitter.

Very sorry to hear that. Many people I know have been severely assaulted. Violent crime in SF is horrific and even if attackers are caught, they are often released immediately.

This is an excerpt from The Independent in the UK...

"Despite being one of the country’s largest cities by population, San Francisco wasn’t in the top 10 cities with the highest homicide rate in the US, according to an analysis of local and federal crime data from WLBT.

Those cities –Jackson, Mississippi; New Orleans, Louisiana; Birmingham, Alabama; St Louis, Missouri; Baltimore, Maryland; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Detroit, Michigan; Cleveland, Ohio; Memphis, Tennessee; and Milwaukee, Wisconsin – were almost all concentrated in the Midwest and South in Republican-controlled states with high poverty rates.

In fact, violent crime rates have largely been declining in San Francisco since peaking in the 1990s, with the beginning of 2022 marking the lowest level of reported violent crime since 1985, according to the San Francisco Chronicle."

The killer another one who decided to go gangster for what he considered messing with family. Dare not even think unflattering thoughts it's simply not alllowed even with gangster want to bes.

Sadly, an understatement!
Opportunity in thief, vandalism and violence can happen anywhere and does.
