Casinos, Do You Go?

No, never. Don't believe in gambling. Sad to see seniors wasting their money & leaving it behind in the casinos. Loneliness in our society is the chief cause of all those seniors heading to the casinos in buses; me thinks!

Buses routinely ferry people to Atlantic City casinos from some distance, giving them a small financial stake (usually around $20) and meal vouchers. Years ago I rode the buses, and would play the slots until I had blown through my stake or made a significant win, then I'd stop. The down side was the long bus rides plus staying on site longer than you really wanted to and the bus left, arriving home late at night...
A casino near us used to give free breakfasts to Seniors on Wednesday and Thursday, bus loads of Seniors where bused in and the Casino changed their policy when the Seniors did not stay to gamble but returned to the bus!!!

Nope, nope, nope! Noisy, crowded, way too many flashing lights. Not even entertainment value for me. I think it's the noise I hate the most.

Haven't been to Vegas in about 5 years, though I wouldn't mind going when this virus has run its course. LV is a fun place for two days once every few years. We play a few slots, wander the casino, watch strangers gamble. I'm not a fan of two Indian Casinos I've been to and likely won't go to another.

During nighttime hours, Las Vegas is a fabulous spectacle of tacky glitz, flashing lights, round-the-clock everything, tourists from everywhere, and a thrumming excitement.
However, like a bad hangover after a night of partying, the light of day puts that city's tawdry underbelly on full display.

We used to go a couple times a year when we lived in New Orleans. Could take $40 to Harrah's and play all day. The casinos in St. Louis don't give you much play for your money, though, so we stopped, and haven't been now in years.

DaveA we took a trip to Conn. a few years back to see the fall colors and stopped in the Foxwood and another one nearby. I can't remember the name. One of them had 1/4 cent machines. I had never seen that before. I had fun playing them because all you could lose in one pull would be 1 ot 2 cents. The big win would be around $5.00. I don't remember winning but it took all day to empty my change purse. My kind of gambling.
You're probably thinking of the Mohegan Sun. I believe that's not too far from Foxwoods.

I go out of necessity. The casino bus that I catch a block and a half from my house to go to Atlantic City (where my timeshare is) gives a $30 slot coupon. I go in the casino, find the machine I want and play until the $30 is done. I cash out my winnings instead of playing them and never put another penny into the machines. I usually get back about $15 or $15 maybe a little more. The most I ever got was $56. Then I take the Jitney or an Uber and go to the resort.
