Cat Jumps From 5th Floor of Burning Chicago Building

It landed on grass, walked away, then tried to return.

It's not clear how many lives a Chicago cat has after an escape from a burning building Thursday, but it's definitely fewer than nine. The black cat jumped from the fifth floor, narrowly missed a wall on the way down, and landed on grass apparently unharmed, WGN reports. It landed on its feet, bounced, and walked away. The Chicago Fire Department tweeted video of the escape, which happened as personnel were filming the exterior of the building, the AP reports.

I watched that on WGN ~ kitty made like a squirrel and expanded his body as if it was an umbrella. Well, as they say kitties have 9 lives!

So you are walking down the street and suddenly you look up and a cat, a black cat is falling toward you from out of the sky. What would your first thoughts be?

Kitties has 8 more lives to go.

As for me, it's seven years of bad luck to follow ...

Cats have the ability to land on their feet, when they leap. But that cat was definitely cool. Having had cats all my life, I've seen that paws out stretched position, kind of floating to the ground. I wish I could do it.

Cats are extraordinary creatures who make the remarkable seem commonplace. As Freud said, "time spent with a cat is never wasted." 🐈

My first thought would be... "How can I catch the cat and take him/her home with me?"
