We live in a mature subdivision, a small gathering of homes where the short roads all dead end. The lots are larger..about a half acre, though our house is a corner house, so it is atypical for land it has almost an acre, but still, it's bordered by very busy main road, so I was surprised to see a deer in the yard last night as Ron and I were sitting on the back porch having a drink.

I'm pretty tickled that my iPhone camera did such a good job capturing this image.

I love to watch the deer in our yard. They come so often I can recognize certain ones. One has a slight limp,another has slightly different coloring and one is always alone and doesn't seem to hang out with the herd. I often wonder why that is. In the spring when they first come into our yard I'm always happy to see the old ones from the year before. They made it through another hunting season. Ronni, I hope he makes it across the busy road if he decides to go that way.
