CDC Lifts mask guidelines for fully vaccinated people

I can't wait to get rid of those disgusting diapers on my face. Once I get my 2nd shot I will not want to wear a mask. If you are a coward who sits and watches the depressing, news night after night, then I guess you better hid in your closet and keep away from people. However, don't complain that life is passing you by, that you have no friends and that you are scared of other people. If you live in a huge city with a lot of people maybe you should move to a small town where people have a different way of life. Around here the small satellite towns around the big bad city are booming. If you live in Toronto, New York or LA then I guess you better keep your mask on for the rest of your life and keep away from people. I think Johnny Cash had it right:
A lifetime of heart and lung problems, amputations, & death are what keeps me being as careful as I can be not to catch this virus or pass it on to others.

My state of Michigan is one of the states that has not lifted the mask mandate yet. I'm really fine with that. It gives us a chance to see what happens in the states that are lifting the mandate.

I don't believe that I'm a coward. I suffered through a burst appendix, painful pancreatitis, and a painful injury to both of my legs. I've had enough experience to know that I don't want to suffer because of Covid. And I certainly don't want anyone else to suffer just because I thought I was above simply wearing a mask.

I guess that sometimes we have to get really sick or injured to start paying more attention to how we live our lives. It took over a year to recover from the burst appendix. It drained me of my strength and getting it back was difficult. I injured my legs and even though I have recovered, after 4 years I still have pain and sometimes trouble with my balance.

If wearing a mask for a little time more will keep me and others safe, I'm all for it. As the saying goes, "No man is an island".

New York State announced that it is adopting the new CDC guidelines for masks effective tomorrow.

I think that I will wait for at least two weeks or maybe until June 15th as some others are suggesting to see if our local infection rate increases above the current rate of 1%.

I went out this morning to pick up a prescription and make a quick stop at the $tore.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that even though we are now following the new CDC guidelines every single employee and shopper in both the pharmacy and the $tore were wearing masks.

Since totally vaccinated folks self-report (honor system), can we trust non-vaxers to be totally honest when questioned? I follow the 'trust but verify' rule and there is no way to verify a claim of vaccination. I'll continue to mask up when in a crowd.
Exactly.

I still carry my mask, but am wearing it less and less. Had my 2 Pfizers a couple of months ago.

I think people who have already had the virus should still get vaccinated, but even if they don't they are probably immune. And probably as safe to go without masks as any vaccinated person.

Things seem to be looking up! Hope it stays that way.
