Censorship and the elites and the rest of us. What is your take on this?

Recently, there has been violence committed in a country now on fire in many ways. Instead of listening and helping a wounded nation to heal, laws are being drawn up to censor anyone who complains with arrest, fines and even jail time. This goes for online sharing as well and even reposts on places like social media facebook or twitter/X. This is extreme. Why is it happening? Where is it going? How will it end? Is it Orwellian? That is my guess. The billionaire elites have priorities. Preserve the status quo unless it benefits them to change.

I wonder if it's all happening because we were discouraged/forbidden to discuss anything important in the first place? People don't talk to each enough anymore.

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable."

How do you feel about censorship and where it is going? What are your thoughts on this??

I don't see how we stop the fall into this hole, much less crawl out of it.

In "the West" a very noisy minority of the population has been duped and even provides funding to politicians, NGOs, and international corporations to support the denaturing of society. Many countries are now being run in banana republic fashion, with civil liberties being stripped away year by year. Censorship has been normalized by much of the media, who also have normalized the rest of the extremists' agenda to cause confusion and self-doubt among as much of the population as possible.

The extremists agendas come in lots of different shapes and sizes. Either it is Pro-this or Anti-this. Big money backs the propaganda for it's particular cause. Who is in change of regulating this propaganda? I have heard that Russia and China have used propaganda on places like "X" "Facebook" and "Instagram". Can these media giants also be places like MSM, the Guardian, Al Jazeera, the Washington Post, Fox and media we think is unbiased?

I totally agree with you.

Yes. What's stopping them?

Maybe the only thing that will stop them is mortality. Think so? I do.

IMO it’s up to each of us to regulate the media propaganda that we are constantly exposed to.

Too many people are more than willing to accept anything that appears to come from a vague or unnamed source as long as it appears in print, on television, the internet, etc…

Be skeptical, trust but verify, question the motive, follow the money, or just turn it off and get some fresh air! 😉🤭😂

I don't understand this thread. I don't know who/what y'all talkin' 'bout. Duh, me.

Nevermind. Y'all talkin' UK Blues.

I think hate speech that promotes violence should be censored. I think that online bullying should be censored. That has led to suicides in the younger generation. IMO some very rich people care about poor people and they may do charitable things to help (sometimes very quietly) but I don't think a huge percentage do. I couldn't believe it years ago when I read that Warren Buffet donated to Bill Gates (and I don't think it was something that would benefit people). Doesn't Gates have enough of his own money?!

Who are these billionaires by name. I would like to know, and what are they censoring? Is it possible to name them? If not, then how do we divest from them?

This would be one. But I'm not here to pick on Bill. Surely you know people like you and me do not run the world. People with billions who own major corporations do and they make us pay the bill through our taxes.

As far as main stream media goes, does anyone even listen to these people any more? For me they lost all credibility during the pandemic. I prefer two guys with cell phones at the scene of action, somewhere streaming from the event, whatever it happens to be and you can make up your own mind about it. At least they're sincere.

Eventually fear extreme censorship will work. I do feel that my generation is one of the last with the spine to really fight this and if they do, things may get worse before they get better. IDK.

OK, those elites. I don't know how they work out what they owe the Government, or what they do to the media, so I really have no clue as to what media is reliable or not. I just look at many angles to the knowledge I am researching, and then go my way. It all fits in there somehow, but have yet to find out how the "Bilderberg" group gets together, or what goes on at their rituals. :)

Parliamentary question | Impact of the Bilderberg meetings and World Economic Forum and cooperation with them | E-006670/2020 | European Parliament

I'll bet you thought these were "conspiracy theories," eh? The link above is not so easily dismissed.

The Bilderberg meetings and World Economic Forum (including the Young Global Leaders and Global Shapers) each bring together influential personalities from all parts of the world at regular intervals for interesting and fruitful exchanges of views.

These meetings are likely to address issues related to culture, art, education, sport and other issues also discussed in the Committee on Culture and Education. The outcomes of these meetings are likely to have a political and social impact. Indeed these organisations influence the lives of citizens and society in the same way as politicians, who are, however, acting on behalf of the public.

Oh, I have watched a lot of Alex Jones stuff talking about them, and even going to one, and protesting. Then I saw a couple of video's about showing one of their meetings and this seemed like some kind of ritual...like they were a secret nefarious club of some sort. I won't say demonic, but with weird symbols and stuff.? That still doesn't tell me where these guys get all their money and power. Is it cronyism? What gets a person invited to join them? Do you think they make policy rules for the world banks, and major countries?

Corporate croneyism. Yes. I suppose when one is a billionaire one meets other billionaires?

Censoring “misinformation” is iffy at best. For some crazy reason people seem to think that these rights violations will only affect those they disagree with. When the censors and ideological purists come for them, they will have no place to hide and nobody left to defend them.

From A Man for All Seasons -
And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned round on you—where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? (He leaves him) This country’s planted thick with laws from coast to coast—man’s laws, not God’s—and if you cut them down—and you’re just the man to do it—d’you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then?
(Act One, scene seven)
