Change Is Hard But Unavoidable.

Life is never static. It’s one of the reasons that we enjoy living. And yet most people fear change. It has been said that change is the only real constant in life. If that is true, why are people so resistant to change? Generally, most people don't take too kindly to change especially when it is thrust upon them without their input.

Turns out, we like some control with our change. But that runs contrary to most of our lives which, some would argue, are not in our complete control. This is one of the reasons why radical innovations are sometimes not accepted by the marketplace for quite some time if at all. Run the other way if someone says,” To be successful, all we have to do is change consumer behavior.”

So, if change is constant and we cannot control quite a bit of what makes up our lives, how do we become more comfortable with change?

Very good post topic. Thank you, Pam.

This sentence of yours that I quoted here, jumped out at me.

When we've been given no chance for any input, is the most difficult part for me.
Perhaps,
Just a little bit, of 'control,' at least, I would prefer.?
;)

"Change" is part of life...especially in todays world where technology is becoming more a part of our lives, with every passing year. All a person can do is to sort out that which we need and can really use, and let the rest pass on by.

Some of this "gee whiz" stuff that seems to capture the attention of so many of the young is of little or no use to me.

I think we can only roll with it. To resist change is to stress yourself against the inevitable. Different people have different attitudes. For some change is exciting and welcome, for others it is annoying. For me, it is tough, but I try my best to go with it.

Well what happened in the UK when change was foisted upon them. They in turn, foisted a referendum upon the government, to offer the populace a choice of remaining in The European Union, or leave. I think we know what it was that was chosen.

On a serious note, Pam - - - -We do the best that we can but some of us never are truly comfortable with it. I'm 87 and could list many things that I am disappointed in, regarding the way society is moving, People who are 47 or 57, have experienced a lesser amount of change than, in this case, I have.

Their starting point is far different than mine. Some things about the society around us are very disturbing to me but are at least somewhat acceptable to them.

Death solves the problem for all of us. Some sooner - some later.

That's my best shot at answering your query.:)

Realize that change is in the vision of all possibilities. It's variables in progress. Constant change
is necessary to grow and expand consciousness, as well as all creation in all space. Embrace change for it gives birth to all new life in all realms.

Sometimes, When we don't change with the flow, providence moves for us. At times, it may seem as though it's not a wanted change, but looking at it from a different perspective, it often is a good, needed movement. This is often nor perceived at the point of decision. but comes to pass as being the right thing.

I say I don't like change, but the fact is when I reflect back on my life I have lived through many changes. If those changes hadn't taken place I know my life would have been very different. With each change, at first not wanting it, I usually ended up being thankful for it.

I think it is possible to become somewhat more comfortable with change by pushing yourself into learning and doing new things, going new places and having new experiences,. You may have to force yourself out of your comfort zone to do this.

@PamfromTx Still can't think of what I want to post but am very grateful to you for starting this very good topic! It's helping me learn new perspectives and that is great!
