Charlie's paw got stuck in crate

Two nights ago, Charlie showed signs he needed to potty outside. It was after 8:30 pm and I already put Charlie in his crate for the night. Upon opening the crate door, Charlie got his paw caught on the doorway. He howling and barking as I attempt to set his paw free, but to no avail. I try to calm Charlie while my wife works to untangle his paw. Finally, Charlie's paw is free with not so much as limp. Meanwhile blood is pouring on to the dining room and kitchen floors as the result of multiple non-vicious bite wounds from Charlie.

My wife bandaged my wounds before going to bed, unfortunately the bandages did not contain the blood that oozed its onto the newly purchased first-time use of bedsheets and pillowcases, one pillow and pillowcase had to be thrown away because of blood stains.

Next day, we went to an outpatient medical facility, waited 3 hours before we were seen. Nurse poured saline solution on wounds and put new bandages on arms and legs, took x-rays and I went home after stopping at the pharmacy for antibiotics.
 

In my area the doc would have called the sheriff and the sheriff would visit you and make you quarantine the dog for 10 days.

You didn't need to throw away the pillow case, just wash the blood stains in your washer set on cold. DH and I have both had problems that caused blood stains on our sheets and pillow cases. Wash everything in cold water now and you wouldn't see any stains .

That’s what I thought also. Pre- spray with stain remover and wash in cold water. Hot water is what sets the stain. Mrstime is right.

Even if they didn’t come out you could use it for ( Charlie )’s dog bed as a cover to help keep it clean.
 
Charlie is doing fine but I may of fractured my left hand. I bought a large dog squeaky toy from pet store. Charlie loves it but the squeaking drives my wife up the wall. Charlie can play with the toy in the absence of my wife.

It's a bummer not being able to use my hands for simple tasks as putting in and adjusting my hearing aides. I can't take a shower yet so as not get the bandages wet on my arms and hands.
Along as I am talking about Charlie, we have a heck of a time treating allergies from a yeast infection, itching and ear infections. On top of that, Charlie is hyper-stimulated by barking dogs, strangers, outside activities etc. For this I give him veterinarian prescribed gabapentin for his nerves. He still barks.

It's a circus here in the morning. Sadie, female Berner used for breeding rescued from Ohio puppy-mills now 5 years old. Her first year with us she didn't bark but when Charlie came on the scene she found her voice and hasn't stopped barking since. The animal behaviorist will begin teaching Charlie and I how to behave after month-long vacation. I'm looking forward to that, hopefully she will address the conflict between Shyla, our Border Collie and Charlie and learn to tolerate each other in the same room.
 
We've had labs with chronic ear infections and yeast. Using antibiotics to cure the infections seemed to provide the right conditions for yeast infections. It was a never ending cycle. Plus swimming and water retrieves while hunting added to the moisture in the ears. Once we learned to use what Lab enthusiasts call "the purple stuff" that cycle stopped and no more infections. Its a simple home made remedy with ingredients I get at Walmart. I put it in an empty conact lens solution bottle. We use it before and after swimming and about once a month just to keep everything on track. It will stain so be sure to watch out for the head shake. We do our dogs outdoors for that reason.
