Interesting.
I wonder where getting one's teeth cleaned would fall on this chart. Would seem riskier than a hair salon because you can't be masked during the procedure and the dentist is hovering less than 18" away.

OK, I had an appointment for a haircut (finally!) this Wednesday, and after seeing your chart, I just cancelled it. I had no idea that was such a high risk! But I'm willing to wait another month; hopefully by then my hair won't be down to the floor yet.

No Problem...I hope. I just had my semi-annual cleaning this past week, and the office was quite clean, and the dentist and all the staff were wearing masks. They wiped everything down with a sanitizer after a patient left, and I saw nothing to be concerned about.

I had my teeth cleaned last week which is why it was fresh on my mind. Need a haircut, but like @Sunny, I'll continue to put it off after seeing this chart.

Don't know why the Dentist office wasn't on the list. My daughter works in a dental office, and so far they only schedule one patient at a time, check temperatures coming in, and everyone working is in gowns, gloves and N95 masks like in a hospital. Maybe they have more rules to follow than a hair salon ....
I don't know.

Thank you for posting it @Bonnie
That is an interesting list, that prioritizes, or gives some guidance for thought.

Look at #4 ...has being in a doctor office waiting room. Ugh.
That is high risk, for something that is sometimes needed and should be lower.

I imagine it varies a lot, depending on the specific staff and office, though.
Many of these places on the list, likely do vary depending on the specific one you go to.

But still, the list gives some comparison of their relative risks.

Might also help us, if we do need to go to one of those places, to judge how extreme careful to be there, or how many questions to ask and requests to make of them, in order to go.

Thanks,

It's an interesting list.

Not much in my life goes above a 3.

I did get my haircut but I'm not convinced it was a 7. My visit required an appointment. The stylist and I were the only people in the Supercuts and we both wore masks. It was the first cut of the day and the stylist took great care to wipe everything down before she allowed me to enter the shop. While the stylist worked we were in close contact but we were never directly facing each other. The payment was totally contactless and they had a big bottle of hand sanitizer on the counter.

In addition to the chart, I think that you should consider the steps you take to mitigate the risk along with the frequency/duration of each thing that you choose to do from the list.

@Bonnie I too, thank you for the chart, great info.
Even being in Canada, or other countries, i think this list applies to all.
