We also need an option to add friends and create groups where only those within the group can comment and contribute to that groups' forum/posts. These are great suggestions that can put this site on a new level!

This site runs on XenForo. The features you're asking for aren't available on it, so even if the admin wanted to, they wouldn't be able to unless they paid somebody to write plugins to implement that functionality, which would cost thousands of dollars.

So have you got any friends on this site that you could start a group with or friends group on Facebook or a text friends group on your phone or friends anywhere that understand what you mean that you could make suggestions to besides, us?

Or do you just plan to keep entertaining us with a multitude of unacceptable suggestions while screaming, ME! ME! ME!, it’s all about me. Cause, and I am truly sorry to tell you this, it’s not about you.

Its about ME, only ME, not you.

I am a senior, that's why I am here. Outside of this, you get all kinds of people who just clown around, teasing, heckling, bullying etc., I have tried a few other sites for seniors, but didn't like them. I may do that one day, but again, now telling whom it might attract, and that's not always good lol!
 
I have belonged to this site for about 8 years. I cannot speak for other long time members, but for ME this is exactly what I was looking for, I had retired earlier than planned, and I wanted to learn about being retired, share stores, and information.
We have people from all over the country, and some in Europe. I think a chat function would not work. Plus, I agree that Facebook and the DMs here would be fine for more private chatting between two or more people
This site has worked, as is, for years, many who have come have stayed and become regular contributors. If it ain't broke, why fix it?
You are new here...why not give the site, as is, a chance, Get to know us, and give us a chance to get to know you
 
I've been on here from March 2023 after being on a site that had some nasty people wanting to start arguing and thinking they knew everything. Since being on here I feel that I have made quite a few friends from around the world and who welcomed me and have never said anything detrimental to my character. As Marie5656 said "You are new here...why not give the site, as is, a chance, get to know us."
