Check Your Costco Receipts

This applies any time you have a large order when something can go wrong.

Last time at Costco, the total was over $300. First I put through a small order that went through separately for a friend. It seemed high and I mentioned it to her. She checked it and there was an extra item on it which was mine. No problem. It did make me check my own receipt to make certain it wasn’t duplicated and it wasn’t. What was put through twice was a $20 dessert. It had been three days but I called and was told I have to bring the receipt in and they will have to look at security. It won’t likely be until January and I can just imagine the hassle I’ll have.

The one advantage of self-checkout is the ease of watching the till.

Thanks for the tip. You know it is sort of funny the experiences I've been having at Costco recently as well. When I go to Costco I only buy certain things there simply because sizes of most food items are simply too large for one person. So I only buy certain things there. And, I often buy the same things every time I go. So you would think the price total would always be the same. But, they are not. I've always thought it was because prices vary a great deal or sometimes an item is on sale. But, maybe not. Maybe I should be checking the receipts more as you suggest. I think I will do that. Thanks.

It's a good idea to check all receipts. Costco has always been excellent about making adjustments and issuing refunds. I'll be very surprised if it becomes a hassle.
