Yes and Cheers always reminded me of it.

Everybody "knew my name" and would urn and greet me as I came in, the girl's name was Sharon and the barman Nigel. My drink was always on the bar by the rime I reached it, in most cases having already been paid for.

I could identify every character in Cheers among the clientele of that bar!
