I hate to see decent size plastic containers thrown away so have been making children’s craft boxes
from them, easy to paint, decorate with stickers and varnish
One of the benefits of having Grandkids is having the opportunity to be creative and to educate/
And one of the things I enjoy on a regular basis is to take them out into Nature.
I did this with my 'older' two, and now with the 'younger' two I continue the practice.
As we travel along the pathways of the National Trust properties we collect items of interest that we come across like

@ WOLF ANGEL I agree, nature is the best "take your imagination and run with it" classroom there is.
I saw a broken tree limb in the yard one day and noticed right away the shape, crevices and breaks. So I sat my gr-daughter
down in front of the TV and we watched video's of mountain river canyons for a bit.
Then I took her out side and sort of led her to the broken branch, she picked it up and began looking for bugs then (Light Bulb)
She brought that branch in got all her paints out and painted it, then she said it needed trees and creatures. So we went shopping for those and this is her final project. She was one proud artist! That branch has it's own shelf in my living room.

Once we get home, I get out the -
Card,
Crayons,
Creosole,
Glue,
Paints ,
Paper,
Ribbon/s,
String,
Tape,
Wire
and other 'bits 'n' bobs - and we create something.
Whilst not being 'Picture perfect' it is personal.
There are lots of things to read and U-Tube to, .
- but sometimes one has to let the imagination go the way of subconciousness and be free flowing.
