Chinese city bans eating dogs and cats in response to coronavirus.

Reminds me of the 2 months I spend traveling all over China. My guide was suppose to arrange for me to go to a restaurant to eat dog meat but he got drunk so we never made it. Guess I will never eat dog.
I was in Dongguan at the turn of the century

Had the best chow mein of my life in a little open air eatery
Later found out the tiny bits of meat was dog

They say in China, if yer gonna be a dog, be a tiny one.....tiny ones are considered more as pets (the bigger ones are dinner)

Never quite got used to hearing dogs yelping in the mornings
They were tenderizing them

When I was in Singapore years ago, I visited the wet markets. At first, I didn't know what to expect. I had only heard of these places, so I kind of kept an open-mind, but even when I did that I still had in my mind what I could expect. I don't know if they have any food or health inspectors, but if I had to guess, I would say no.

I saw all kind of animals being butchered on the spot. Ducks, monkeys, Geese, Chickens, large fish of some type and even some things that I didn't even recognize. They use the hoses with water a lot to wash the blood away from where they are working and into a french drain. The place didn't smell as bad as I had imagine it would, but nonetheless, it smelled.

I was very careful what I ate while I was there, although I did try the deep fired chicken feet and just a taste of the monkey brains AND I do mean just a very small taste of that stuff. I usually ate at the hotel where they served American food and if I was out and about, I would go to KFC or maybe Pizza Hut or places that I was familiar with.
