In our early years others make choices for us but later we make our own - I made mine at 18 +++ - I now live in outback Ozzie sweltering at 40C and shorts and tee shirts only for Xmas! - all the roads and choices seemed random along the way including 3 yrs in HK but are they or are they designed for us? - I've enjoyed all moments - made a few errors but who doesn't - but would I have changed any ?? - doubt it?

Sometimes I miss the years when I could make my own choices, not everything about those years (they were lonely sometimes), but being more able to do what I wanted when I wanted. Now it's Huzz making most of the choices and I get so tired most of the time.

i live in the forest in Missouri, Alone with my mate/friend. Have for over 30 years. I had the good life of a working musician but I chose to quit that and get a job near my children. I am not sure that having other people make my decisions is much different than when I think it is strictly mine. Nope...others are always involved. Always.

Mom was a lot more intuitive than I gave her credit for, in my early years.
I was only a teenager when she told me I had better plan on having a good paying job and that was all she said. For years I only thought that meant don’t be lazy. Get out there and get to work. Well, that was part of it — the other half of that meant I was far too independent and wanting to do my own thing to depend on somebody else.
That did not mean not getting married. It simply meant not getting married to a control freak who wanted to keep me under their thumb 24/7.
