Was This the Warmest Christmas?

Christmas 2025 was the warmest on record in multiple locations across the United States, with several cities breaking long-standing temperature records. Denver experienced its warmest Christmas in history, reaching 70°F, surpassing the previous record of 69°F set in 2005 Similarly, Salt Lake City recorded its warmest Christmas ever, while the Ozarks saw a high of 77°F, marking the region's warmest Christmas on record El Paso also broke its Christmas Day record with a high of 76°F, exceeding the previous record of 75°F set in 1933 In Summit County, Christmas Eve was the warmest ever recorded, with a high of 54°F at the Dillon weather station, surpassing the 1955 record by two degrees

- **Denver, Colorado**: Christmas Day reached 70°F, the highest temperature ever recorded on December 25, breaking the previous record of 69°F from 2005
- **Salt Lake City, Utah**: Had its warmest Christmas ever on December 25, 2025, with record-setting highs
- **Ozarks region (Missouri)**: Recorded a high of 77°F on Christmas Day, tying the all-time warmest temperature ever recorded in December and marking the first time a December day exceeded this threshold
- **El Paso, Texas**: Recorded a high of 76°F on Christmas Day, breaking the previous record of 75°F set in 1933 and being about 20°F above average
- **Summit County, Colorado**: Christmas Eve was the warmest on record, with a high of 54°F in Dillon, two degrees above the 1955 record and 26°F above the 30-year average
- **Aspen, Colorado**: Experienced its second-warmest Christmas on record with a high of 47°F, one degree below the record of 48°F set in 1955 and 2010

A shift in weather patterns is expected by the end of the week, with colder temperatures and snow expected to return to mountain areas, including Aspen, by Sunday

That's amazing, the Ozarks were warmer than me in the deep SE.

I wish the whipsawing weather would stop. There is no time to adjust to the current temps before we've blasted into the opposite direction.

Yup, it was in the high 60s here on Thursday.

Today, Sunday, the predicted high is 71! Cold front will move in later and th temps for the week will be more typical of this time of the year….high 30s low 40s

Coldest month in a long time with high winds a good deal of the ime and Friday there was over a foot of snow. Certainly different than the years proceeding.

When I can turn the A/C off for a few days around here, that is when it’s Wintertime for me.
.. reports are that will happen next week - for a few days anyway.

Most years, the cold comes and stays for awhile in February, so this year is normal here.

I actually enjoy the warmer climate where I live. I hardly have to shovel snow any more in winters, which is nice.

I feel for the people who are suffering from floods, mudslides, sweltering heat, and fires, though, due to climate change. People are being displaced by rising sea levels, which is adding to the migration crisis around the world. And it's only going to get worse.

Maybe AI will come up with a solution.

It's been crazy warm here. This morning at dawn it was 59 (15C) and the high this afternoon is forecast to be 77(25C). But tomorrow we are supposed to have a cold front pass through and by Tuesday morning the low is forecasted to be around 32 (0 C).
