Christmas cards in mid November ?? 😳

Dec. 1st tree goes up, down before midnight Dec 31st. Do not send cards out and have not for years. Only reason I even put up our small tree is for hubby,he is very nostalgic and sentimental.
Costs way too much and most people we know do not send, I could send out 12 and maybe get two in return. Fine with me.
Stores are forced to put out holidays stuff 3 mos. in advance, in most cases. We started getting things up out in late August. We hated it but that but that's way it done. Like everything else the holidays are not what they use to be.;)

Some people think e-cards are impersonal, but, I like them.
I pay to send them from the Jacquie Lawson site, which has a large selection.
Stamps to send a card are $1.44 .. gone are the old days of cheap postage.

My husband used to send them to me when he was courting me. I thought they were delightful.

I usually maybe only sent a couple or three out a year before meeting my husband. After we married, I was in charge of sending cards out and he had quite a list for me. (my writing was more legible) I will continue this list to carry on his tradition. I usually send cards out the first or second week of December.

This thread got me to purchase some Christmas 🎄 cards. I got them today. I don't send many out anymore because it takes a lot of time to fill them out and also because I only get 2 back now.

I'm not especially crazy about getting some back but I felt bad after all the time I used to put into them.

I always send my cards on December 13th, my birthday, easy to remember. I don't want mine to be the first one and have the receiver moan and say, "Oh no, I haven't even bought mine yet," and I don't want them to arrive during the final five days before Christmas when people are rushed and don't even want to bother with them.

I used to put my tree up the day after Thanksgiving, but these last few years I've been putting it up just as soon as the mood hits me. I put mine up last Monday and the living room is decorated. It takes some of the gloom out of these dark-early days.
My Christmas card mailing date is December 12th, whether or not they arrive on time. If mine are late, chances are most of the ones I get will also be late.
The recommended deadline is Dec. 17th so you should have no worries.

@Della – I am a little confused – you put your tree up the day AFTER Christmas? Did you mean take down the tree the day after Christmas, or did you mean you put it up the day after American Thanksgiving? Some days, it doesn’t take much to confuse me:confused:. Maybe I'll just go back to bed.
Right. I meant day after Thanksgiving. I remain in a confused state these days. Thanks for the clue, I'll go back and change it!
