Christmas music already?!

So I went to get a pedicure today, and the salon was playing Christmas music!!! OMG really? I know Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but please!! It was pleasantly understated, only instrumental, but still. I can't even.

They were playing it in Walmart last week. Christmas movies are on already, trees are being put up in houses in our town. Lights strung and lit and those plastic blow up figures are already laying in yards during the day like garbage bags.
How I hate those things.
I'm sure someone is going to get the bright idea to put a mask on them and stand them 6"' apart.

My Thanksgiving is already over.
Christmas is only 5 1\2 weeks away. We need to get in the holiday spirit and yes I have started to play Christmas music at home. I don't go out much right now so don't know if it is playing at the mall (but probably). The lights look so good on these dark nights and are a welcome sight to me.
Edited to add that the grocery stores are already selling cut trees.

Retailers have been trying to stretch out the Xmas buying season since Christmas. I'm still blown away by the "Christmas in July" sales. I just can't get all warm and fuzzy thinking I have only 364 more shopping days to Xmas . By the time the holiday does come around, you're sick of it. It's just plain, crass commercialism, at its worst.

I see a lot of Christmas things in the few stores I go to, and some people in the neighborhood have started putting up lights. At least they take them down after the season is over. I hate those blow up Santas and other decorations, but I have to say one person just had a nice snowman who shivered, it was pleasant to see, brought a smile especially on the frigid snowy days. I hate early celebrations of holidays, Christmas shouldn't start until after Thanksgiving is over, IMO.

I haven't been out recently.. so I don't get to hear the Chritmas music in the stores ( anyway only our supermarkets are open at the moment during lockdown)...however.. 2 of my neighbours already have their outdoor Christmas lights up.... I think they're trying to cheer themselves up in the current climate

Christmas music in November? That's nothing! I've seen Christmas decoration items lined up on the shelves at Costco in August! And lots of stores start that awful music in October.

I say awful because I am a big fan of all the beautiful Xmas music. But that is not what the stores play, probably because it's too religious. And you can get just so excited about Frosty the Snowman, Rudolf, and It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Xmas. Ugh.

Do Walmart’s play Christmas music? I don’t think ours does.

I don’t even think they do in the mall. Definitely not the grocery stores that I go to. This is a small town so that’s probably the reason. The music is everything when we go to the big cities.
