Where is all the candied fruit for fruitcake? It used to be in every store, now it's an "order & ship" commodity at least at the 2 local supermarkets and the WalMart.

The first year I worked in the lab (1972), a woman was selling Advent calendars to raise money for epilepsy research. They were just $1, so I bought one - big mistake! It started me collecting them. My mom liked them, too. She said when the light was behind it, it looked like stained glass. I have dozens. In my opinion, the best ones came from Germany. I haven't put any out in years now.

I found this vintage perfume bottle when I was going through the boxes of Christmas stuff for the sale. I guess I'll keep it for now. The outside is a styrofoam snowman figure which conceals a spiral-shaped bottle.
