Christmas of 2023 ...Anything Goes

In only A WEEK it will be the day after Thanksgiving which is the Biggest Shopping Day of The Year for Christmas Sales!
So now's a GREAT time for gift suggestions.

(all FedEx services are closed on December 24 and 25)."

People need a little time to shop for gifts so this is a great time to start gathering ideas.

Always check reviews when buying online...especially in today's world.

...I suggest you be cautious when buying anything sold by TEMU
(returns are impossible, many items don't arrive say reviews from the BBB)

I read that less than 10% of adopted PUPPIES are returned after the holidays!

So I guess it's not a bad idea after all to give an adopted puppy for Christmas. But just be super sure the recipient wants it and is capable of being able to give it the care it needs...of course. But you all know that already 🎅😉

I think we're finding things a tad more stressful every year. What do we get our friends and family? We always try to get something different, but that's becoming difficult .

Anyway, we're off to Germany in a couple of weeks to visit some of the Christmas markets along the Rhine and surrounding area. Apart from the years when we couldn't travel because of Covid, we try to have a pre-Christmas break and do a bit of shopping. Absolute favourite place is Hamburg, but we try to find different places most years. Last year it was Vienna and this time it's Mainz, Koblenz etc.
 
It might be a Great Lakes region thing. We had a number of Lutheran immigrant families where I grew up, many had grandparents and even parents who were 1st generation from Sweden, Finland, or Norway. The accent was as common to us as German, Dutch, and Polish accents back in the day when everyone from farmers to shopkeepers might be 1st or 2nd generation. We even had local newspapers in German and Dutch until about 1963.
