Christmas of 2023 ...Anything Goes

The Christmas fun has begun! Tomorrow, we're taking all four of the littles to "Cracker Christmas" at Fort Christmas Park near Orlando. They'll have all kinds of demonstrations of early life in Florida, re-enactments, etc., plus all kinds of Christmas stuff and craft and food vendors.

The next Saturday is our "family Christmas" at my house (oh, boy, lots of cleaning and rearranging to do this week) followed by the Christmas "night parade" that evening that we're taking all four kids to.

The Saturday after that is some sort of Christmas shindig going on in Brooksville, west of Orlando where we're taking all the kids.

Interspace that with dinners with other people and a couple of parties we're attending AND a visit to the Tampa Zoo for "Christmas with the Animals".

That'll get me through long dark January, I think.

I'm babysitting tonight and we're going to be painting flat rocks with Christmas scenes and putting them in places all through the neighborhood for people to find. I'll probably be black-and-blue....and red and green and yellow.....by evening's end.

Something just dawned on me.
We hung nylon stockings up on Christmas eve. It was great because they stretched but they were stretched full of oranges and apples...plus some goodies.

I wonder if, to the neighbors, it was like the lamp in 'The Christmas Story'?
My mom and dad were somewhat similar. 🤔
