Does anyone do luminaria any more?
My mom did it starting in the 1980s, weather permitting on Christmas eve. After she passed, I continued for a few years until I used up all the candles. I just don't see people doing it much anymore.
A luminaria - need: white paper bags, votive candles, sand or kitty litter (unused), long matches. Open up the bags and place then where you want them and put about 2 inches of sand or litter in the bottoms. Center a votive candle in the bottom of the bag and light it with long matches. Do not do this if it's a rainy, showy or windy night!
